I'm posting this much later than it arrived in theaters, because the movie is coming out on DVD next week. Listen to me... I HATE TOM CRUISE. I HATE HIM WITH THE WHITE HOT INTENSITY OF A 1000 SUNS. MAY THE FLEAS OF A 1000 CAMELS INFEST HIS ARMPITS. Now, with that out of the way, this is a SOLID movie. Great love story, I actually liked Cruise's performance more than say, cholera. Phillip Seymour Hoffman just chews scenery left and right. Cruise's girl, ? Monaghan, is hot and likeable (to see her in an even better movie rent Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). The best thing about the movie for me is JJ Abram's direction and script. Intense, realistic over the top violence. It's gritty and ugly. The best thing about the movie: Keri Russell. She has far too little screen time, but her performance is desperate, inspired, and sexy as hell. I know you all hate Cruise as much as I do. Put aside your problems with his crazy cuckoo ass and see this movie.

I have absolutely no problems with cruise. he's a good actor but he went batshit crazy. good for him. he can afford the psych treatment.
tons of hollywood is into the hubbard religion just like him. he just takes it too far. he's the falwell of hubbard.
as for MI3 .... after the assblow that was MI1 and 2. i refused to see this. your review makes me curious tho. so did you like 1 and 2, hence, enjoyed three or is it on some magical other level?

I didn't like 1, and I didn't like 2 even more (or is it less?) ANYwho... The only reason I subjected myself to MI3 was because of JJ Abrams. No other reason. That's why I liked it so much. It was a pleasant surprise from the crapfest of MI1 and MI2.

You know you subjected yourself to it for P.S. Hoffman. Admit he is all the man you will ever need.
