If you play a rogue, fine. If you want to defend them, fuck you too. I'll never play a rogue for the same reason so many of us will never play a shammy. Fuck them. Fuck them all. They should be removed from the game.

Rogues and Warlocks...being unable to do anything most of the fight is lame. Though I thought Rogues were easy for hunters?

Ok you are a hunter, the only way a rogue should beat you is if he is geared to the hilt. Scatter shot that bastards face fiegn death ice trap and the whole time have your pet on him. The ? I have for you what spec are you? Marksmane and beastmaster hunters melt the faces on just about every class. Just a few pointers. If you ever get in GC ask HEadie for hunter tricks that bastard knows the class inside and out.

Ok, I'm somewhat cooled off on the subject. So here we go. My problem with rogues is that they usually get me at inopportune moments and I'm either dead before I can do anything or I don't have the resources on hand (mana/health) to win. They piss me off because even with track hidden, I don't know they're there until they've backstabbed me, the traps I religiously place whilst grinding are useless, and they're damn near impossible to track down for revenge. Anywho. My current spec right now is this: www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/hunter/talents.html?0000000000000000510510305000003325202010303151Now, in my own defense, I mostly just wanted to give wyvern sting a try..figured it'd be useful for pulls or something. I do regret that for the most part because it's not nearly as helpful as I'd hoped. The reason I've STUCK with this build for the couple weeks that I have is because I didn't want to just give up on it because it wasn't what I was used to...I figured that if there were as many people out there as I'd found who suggested similar builds, there had to be some merrit to it so I should try to learn how to play it. Well, I've tried. The build provides a lot of POTENTIAL crowd control with very few definites...which makes it unreliable. Counterstrike is an almost worthless ability..even with deterence, aspect of the monkey, and the couple extra points in parry, it almost never gets activated unless there are like 3 things on me..which means it's still not very helpful and I'm probably not doing my job right as a hunter. So to hell with this build. Here are a few that I'm looking at. www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/hunter/talents.html?5005010150000000505510305130510000000000000000My thoughts here are that it's a nearly full marksman build with as many pet-bulking stats as I can pack in there. I'd thought about bulking up the aspect of the monkey, but when I'm PvP attacked out of the blue while I'm grinding, I don't usually have time to turn it on and 5% to dodge doesn't sound terribly useful. Plus my ultimate goal should be to get out of melee range anyway. So....yeah. www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/hunter/talents.html?5005010150000000505510305130510000000000000000#noneOk. This one has the same marksman build, and goes survival instead of beast. The thought here is the extra damage against humanoids and beasts, extra power to traps (which I try to use every chance I get), the chance to stick someone with wingclip, and some extra defense. www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/hunter/talents.html?5200310150501251500510300000000000000000000000This is a full beastmaster spec with marksman points added. It lacks scatter shot. I used this build (minus the marksman stuff) to get me through my level 40's. The perk is that my pet TEARS into things hardcore, and when I know I'm fighting something that can fear it, I beastial wrath it in advance and then all "I" have to do is wing clip, run in circles, and shoot the guy with arcane shot or something until he dies. (exagerated but the point is made). On the downside it lacks scatter shot and (I would think at least) makes me not so useful in raids. www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/hunter/talents.html?5500000050501000501510305110003300200000000000This is one I put together for conversation's sake. It has scatter shot, some extra damage stuff from the survival tree, and most of the pet perks from the beast master tree. I put it together specifically to be torn apart so I might learn some things I'd never think to ask question about or something someone else might not think to mention. Any input from anyone is welcome and highly requested because I need to respec but I don't want to have to do it twice (my next will cost me 20g).

Part of the problem is you are going to have to pick what you want to be the best at and what you want to be secondary. Raiding first then pvp, or raiding first then farming, or pvp first then raiding.... you get the idea. Wyvern sting is terrible, its a 2 min cooldown, only used out of combat and at 8 yards minimun and it puts a dot on them so they cannot be re-crowd contolled after. A hunter must have either scattershot or intimidation to create some space at an instant. And when you do have one of those get the macro/addon that will auto fiegn death and freezing trap. Also farm www.thottbot.com/?i=6017. You can get about 30 - 40 in an hour, I never leave home without them for fighting rogues or undead preists. If you have more specific questions I will try to help or as Flounder said Headie is probably the most badass hunter there is so get a hold of him. edit: Despite everything if you are fighting a prep rogue and he is willing to use all of his cooldowns twice in the same fight you are going to loose every 10 mintues and yes Blizz sucks ass for allowing this.

I tend to spend a lot of time farming alone or helping others powerlevel through PvE stuffy stuff. I would imagine that due to my less than impressive equipment at the moment, even being raid specced...I wouldn't be of much more use in a raid than the warm body I am now. So for the sake of learning, what would a good farm/pvp kind of spec be, and how what kinds of things would I do differently if I were to be raid specced? Also...any other advice on specific items like the Jungle Remedy that I should keep handy? Thanks
