Well, I have been sitting on this decision a bit because I wanted to do something with my 2nd profession. I know that crafting professions are in no way fun or easy, but I decided I am going to take up Blacksmithing all the way to Swordsmith. Will give me something to strive for on my off time after 70, and I am already 375 mining and sitting on tons of ore and gathering more each day....

blacksmithing is tricky.
its not like leatherworking that has some easy money makers (riding crop) or tailoring (bags) or alchemy (stat boosters).
Blacksmithing is pointless until you get 350+ and start doing faction grinding. because in the long run, Resistance Gear is going to be your big money maker. There will be other things but but they are always random drops in raids.
specializations do not work the same way, so being a swordsmith is a temporary thing now....
my suggestion is to make money with a second gathering skill, but being able to craft stuff definitely has a strong appeal and sense of accomplishment.
So if you want to do blacksmithing.... start with grinding what you need first... and i be honest when i say when you get to Mithril ... about 800 to 1000 needed and thorium is about 6 to 8 hundred..
if you need any help, just ask.
